Privacy

This is my personal site. It collects only what it needs to answer you, send the letter you asked for, and count visits.

What it collects, and why

Get in touch. What it’s about, your message, your name and your email, so I can read it and reply.

The newsletter. Your email address, so I can send you the letter.

Visits. An analytics service counts visits and which pages are read, using cookies. In Europe, the UK and Switzerland the site asks first, and sends nothing to it until you say yes. Your choice is kept in your own browser.

Logs. Like any website, the servers keep short records of requests, including internet addresses, to run the site and keep it safe. To stop spam, the form also keeps a scrambled version of your address for one hour.

How long I keep it

Messages, as long as the conversation is useful. Newsletter addresses, until you leave the list. Visit counts, up to 14 months. Logs and the spam record, a short time, then they’re deleted on their own.

What I don’t do

I don’t sell your information or share it for advertising, and the site runs no ads. Some older posts show videos or photos from other sites; when one loads, that site can see your visit.

Your choices

You can change your analytics choice here at any time. To see, correct or delete what I hold about you, or to leave the newsletter, write to me at me@msayla.com. If you’re in Europe or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
